This is a very small sample from the collections of The Historical Society of Quincy and Adams County, The Quincy Public Library, and The Illinois Digital Archives, as well as others gathered from across the internet. Complete collections and detailed descriptions are available for viewing on these respective sites: ADAMS COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY ILLINOIS DIGITAL ARCHIVES QUINCY PUBLIC LIBRARY Many of these photographs were collected by Carl Landrum, a Quincy historian, throughout his lifetime. A number of these photos were published in the Quincy Herald-Whig, in which his articles ran from 1965 to 2003. If you are a native of Adams County, I'm sure you will find these photos to be of great historical significance. The above websites have been instrumental in their efforts to archive this history through the hundreds of rare images collected, restored and compiled over the years.
